Kelder's Farm: A Full-Day Hudson Valley Trip From NYC

Kelder's Farm — Kerhonkson, NY

~2 hours from NYC in the Hudson Valley. One ticket, a full day, exhausted kids on the way home. The dream.

What you actually get with admission

  • Giant jumping pillow + a 60-ft jumping pad
  • Homegrown mini-golf with edible plants on the course
  • Petting farm — goats, donkeys, llamas, alpacas
  • The corn pit (warning: small children may refuse to leave)
  • Combine slides, ropes course, hayrides, corn maze
  • The world's largest garden gnome — his name is Gnome Chomsky

Strawberry picking

  • Season is roughly early to mid June, about a 3-week window.
  • Two ticket types: General Admission (just the farm) or Pick & Play (adds a picking basket). Pick & Play is the move.
  • Buy online — it's cheaper than at the gate.
  • Strawberries are weather-dependent — check their site the morning of.

Real-mom notes

  • Go right at the 10am open to beat heat and crowds.
  • Plan for a full day — toddlers through tweens will all find their thing.
  • Outside food and drinks allowed. Huge win — pack a cooler.
  • Bring sunscreen, hats, and a change of clothes (corn pit, splash zones, strawberry juice).

The strawberries are the headline, but you'll spend more time bouncing and making "corn angels" than picking. Save this guide for June.
