American Dream Mall, the no-car way

It looks far on a map. It isn't. From Port Authority you can be at American Dream in roughly 20 minutes, no transfers required.

Getting there

• NJ Transit 355 bus — straight from Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) to American Dream.
• Buy your ticket on the NJ Transit app before you board so you're not fumbling at the gate.
• Trip time: about 17 minutes.

Getting back (this is the part everyone messes up)

• Weekends: hourly returns, roughly 10am–11pm. Easy.
• Weekdays: only two return buses — around 7pm and 9:30pm. Miss those and you're calling a rideshare across state lines.
• Take a screenshot of the return schedule the morning of your trip.

What to actually do once you're there

• Nickelodeon Universe — indoor theme park, rollercoasters for big kids, gentler rides for littles.
• DreamWorks Water Park — bring swim diapers and patience.
• Big SNOW — real indoor snow, real ski lift. Rentals on site.
• Sea Life Aquarium + Angry Birds Mini Golf for in-between energy resets.

Mom notes

• Strollers welcome basically everywhere.
• Pack snacks — the food court is fine but pricey.
• Buy attraction tickets online, not at the door.
